Job Summary
The Temporary Substitute Truck Driver / Warehouse Specialist for Purchasing is responsible for loading all supplies, equipment, and furniture on trucks and making deliveries to units or schools according to a prescribed schedule.
Job Requirements
The following are required :
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in truck driving, delivery, and warehouse work. Work experience must evidence ability to perform tasks assigned.
- A valid Alaska commercial driver's license class B and air brake endorsement.
- A valid pallet jack and forklift certification for standup and sit down types.
- Knowledge of traffic laws as they apply to the operation of trucks.
- Ability to load and unload delivery trucks involving use of hand trucks, electric and manual pallet jacks, and on and off power lift gates. Involves extensive walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stacking, securing of loads, and use of power lift gates.
- Ability to learn assigned routes and locations on individual delivery schedules.
- Ability to do manual labor.
- Ability to operate a forklift and drive trucks in a safe manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
