Major Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic and Administrative
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Additional Information
This hybrid position is based in Albany, NY. This role is required to be on-site at least 3 days per week. All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic and Administrative
- Change Management: Ensure smooth implementation of new technologies and processes
- IT Policy Development and Enforcement: Create and enforce IT policies and standards
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning: Identify and mitigate potential IT risks
- Project Portfolio Management: Oversee IT projects and ensure their successful completion
- Data Center Operations: Manage data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network equipment
- Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance and identify potential issues
- Storage Area Networks (SAN): Manage and maintain SAN infrastructure
- DNS/DHCP Management: Configure and manage DNS and DHCP services
- Certificate Management: Issue, renew, and revoke digital certificates
- UPS and Power Management: Ensure reliable power supply to critical IT equipment
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Manage user identities and access controls
- Security Incident Response: Respond to security incidents and minimize damage
- Vulnerability Assessment: Identify and assess security vulnerabilities
- Patch Management: Implement and manage software patches to address security vulnerabilities
- Backups: Conduct and maintain regular ACPHS data backups
- Authentication and Authorization: Implement strong authentication methods with multi-factor authentication and authorization controls to restrict access to sensitive resources
- Password Policies: Enforce strong password policies to prevent unauthorized access
- Single Sign-On (SSO): Simplify user access to multiple applications with a single set of credentials
- Phone System: Manage the institution's phone system, including VoIP and traditional phone lines
- Emergency Phone System: Maintain emergency communication (Blue Light) systems and protocols
- Email: Manage enterprise email system, including security and spam filtering
- Office365: Mange and maintain the Office365 environment along with licensing maintenance
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Manage and maintain VDI environments for remote access
- Cloud Services: Oversee cloud-based applications, storage, and infrastructure services
- Research Computing Support: Provide technical support for research computing needs
- Database Administration: Manage and maintain databases used by the institution
- Expertise in servers, networks, security, and Azure Cloud systems.
- Strong with Office365, VDI, VMware
- Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills.
- Associates in IT or related field (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of systems administration experience
- Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network , MCSA), preferred
