DESCRIPTION:
Albany County Department of Mental Health is seeking applications to fill a vacancy for a part time Psychiatric Nurse. This is a professional nursing position involving the responsibility for the care and treatment of behavioral health (mental health and alcohol/substance abuse) patients. Incumbent in this class performs specialized nursing care using judgment and skill. Work is performed under the general direction of a superior in accordance with a prescribed nursing care plan. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:
Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department from a course approved by such department as qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse and one (1) year of nursing experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
