What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Labor position at Albany County Fairgrounds?
Albany County Fairgrounds is seeking to hire summer labor. This position will serve as a general labor employee to the facility manager for our seasonal position. All assigned duties need to be performed in a timely and professional manner. Part time and full time hours available through the summer. This is an hourly position with no benefits offered. Some weekend hours may be required for events. Pay Range: DOE. Open Until Filled.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Must pass a background check due to the close proximity to minors in youth programs;
- Must pass drug test;
- Must be able to maintain a valid driver license;
- Able to lift 50lbs;
- Able to work outdoors for long durations.
Desired Qualifications
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to use landscaping tools;
- Possess high quality customer service skills;
- Previous experience with events, event planning or county fairs/expos.
Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
- Assist with janitorial work including cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, meeting rooms and event spaces;
- Use a variety of tools to complete daily work including repairs, regular maintenance, landscaping and lawn maintenance, small engines and other tools as directed by the facility manager;
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather during events including Laramie Jubilee Days and the Albany County Fair;
- Able to work scheduled hours and overtime for specified and scheduled events during the summer;
- Follow Fairgrounds policies;
- Other duties as requested by management.
