Job Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Specialist performs routine and preventive maintenance throughout the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient operation of equipment and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect potential problems.
- Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Inspects or tests damaged machine and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs.
- Reassembles machines after completion of repair or maintenance work.
- Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- Performs routine electrical maintenance and repair.
- Determines causes of operating errors to troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Responsible for building maintenance, including grounds, roof repair, and debris removal.
- All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
- An associate degree in an industrial maintenance field; three years' experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and electrical technology.
- Attention to detail and good communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior working experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
