As a Maintenance Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment are in good working order, which is critical to our production process.
Main Responsibilities
- Start machines and observe their mechanical operation to determine efficiency and detect potential problems.
- Read work orders and specifications to identify machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
- Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.
- Reassemble machines after completion of repair or maintenance work.
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance and repair tasks.
- Determine causes of operating errors to troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Responsible for building maintenance, including grounds, roof repair, and debris removal.
Requirements
- Associate degree in an industrial maintenance field; 3 years' experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior working experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
Working Conditions
This job operates primarily in a plant environment but may also include work in the office and warehousing areas. The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
