What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance position at Albany Marriott Hotel?
The Albany Marriott is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team! We are looking for candidates that are pro-active and hard-working, to repair and maintain the property in compliance with local, state, and brand standards.
Candidates will receive a $400 sign on bonus after completion of 90 days!
Duties and Functions:
- Respond to all guest requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner and according to department specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance service on all guestrooms, public areas, and administrative offices.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical areas.
- Troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment.
- Multi-task and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary.
- Exhibit a high level of professionalism in all interactions/situations.
- Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by a supervisor/manager.
Qualification Standards:
- 2 years of experience as an Engineer, preferably in a hotel.
- General knowledge of building maintenance and systems.
- Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly.
- Skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Ability to walk and/or stand during the entire shift.
- Medium Work- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to work Holidays and Weekends.
