Pulmonary Renal Hospitalist Assistant Nurse Manager Job Description
This role is responsible for coordinating, planning, and administering the medical and surgical specialty nursing services at our hospital. The Assistant Nurse Manager works closely with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Vice President of Specialty Nursing Division to ensure that patient care is delivered uniformly throughout the acute care stay.
The ideal candidate will have a BSN degree and current New York State Registered Nurse license. Prior management experience is preferred. The selected individual will be responsible for mentoring professional caregivers, facilitating patient access and transitions, and collaborating with other department leaders to achieve short- and long-term goals.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Mentor and support nurses to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Facilitate effective communication among patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Develop and implement policies, programs, and services aligned with hospital mission and vision
- Provide direction and support to unit-based staff and collaborate with other service and department leaders
Requirements:
- BSN degree required, MSN or comparable advanced degree preferred
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Management experience preferred
