Purpose:
The Assistant Nurse Manager assumes a key leadership role within the hospital, overseeing coordination, planning, administrative management, financial, and operational duties. This includes collaborating with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Vice President of Specialty Nursing Division.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor professional caregivers in delivering patient care and facilitating patient access, communication, and transitions throughout the acute care stay.
- Provide leadership for direct patient care provided by specialty nursing unit staff on the assigned primary shift of work.
- Ensure competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers, including referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the hospital's mission and departmental/unit vision and philosophy.
- Direct and support unit-based staff, collaborating with other service and department leaders towards attainment of short- and long-term goals and objectives.
