Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President for Communications and Marketing, the AVP for Communications and Marketing will hold a key role in guiding activities for the advertising and promotion of the Albany Med Health System. As such, they will serve as the primary liaison for marketing needs at Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, and Saratoga Hospital. Collaborating with members of the team in all locations, the AVP for Communications and Marketing will drive the creation of content that builds awareness and appreciation for the Albany Med Health System and its hospitals. They will oversee the advertising strategy between overall System and campus-level marketing. They will also support additional needs of communications and marketing on community campuses and in Albany as well as business operations for the department.

- Tracking service line, digital, and market data to ensure strategies are effective.
- Aligning a multi-located team under the department’s guiding principles and the System’s strategic plan.
- Supporting the operations of department through the oversight of budget and staff, as well as ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
- Identifying new opportunities and platforms to expand the marketing footprint.
- Managing multiple projects at once and working well under deadlines.
- Representing the Communications and Marketing department to leadership at the System and community levels.
- Assisting the VP with the business operations of the department, including responsibilities for strategy and team and financial management.
- Continuing to grow as a marketing professional by remaining informed about the Albany Med Health System, its hospitals, its people and programs, and issues and advances in health care and higher education.
- Staying abreast of the latest trends in communications, marketing, public relations and social and news media.
