Albany Medical Center seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) on night shift. The CCU is a 17-bed cardiac critical care unit with invasive monitoring capabilities.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a RN in the CCU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, and contributing to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current New York State license to practice as a registered nurse.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care nursing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
