The Role of the Nurse Practitioner:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly skilled healthcare professional who has gained expertise in a specific area of patient care through clinical experience, study, and supervised practice at the master's or doctoral level. With advanced knowledge, skills, and credentialing, the NP plays a critical role in assessing and managing patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consulting with specialists, and implementing effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations to collect vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information.
* Order and interpret medical laboratory test results to diagnose medical conditions and develop effective treatment plans.
* Administer medications and treatments, perform minor surgery, and prepare patients for tests, therapy, or treatments as needed.
* Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, complete billing documentation, and manage inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
* Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge, including patient triaging.

Requirements:
* Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
* Ability to quickly master all aspects of computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.

Certifications and Licenses:
* NP - Nurse Practitioner – Licensed Upon Hire required.
