Pediatrics Neonatology Nurse Practitioner Role
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Pediatrics Neonatology team at Albany Medical Center.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in patient care services, with advanced knowledge and skills in assessment, management, and implementation of plans of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, therapeutic interventions, and evaluating plans of care.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to provide family-centered care.
- Develop and apply specialty practice standards and research to enhance the quality of care.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, and collect clinical data, including vital signs and medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical reports, inventory of medical supplies, and serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts.
- Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students.
Requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy, principles of neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, human disabilities, pharmacology, gerontology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional image and confidence in earning the trust of others.
- Access to sensitive information, including HIPAA Protected Health Information, may be required.
