As a Medical Nurse Specialist at Albany Medical Center, you will play a vital role in the Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Your primary responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, all while documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
You will assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered. Your sound nursing judgment will be essential in making patient care management decisions. Additionally, you will provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Collaborating with the nursing team, you will create a Plan of Care for all patients. You will also direct and guide ancillary personnel, maintaining standards of professional nursing.
