About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a key member of the pediatric gastroenterology team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of specialty practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients with complex health needs, including ordering diagnostic tests and developing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, primary nurses, and other healthcare providers to provide family-centered care.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
- Administer medications, perform minor surgery, and order medical laboratory test results.
- Maintain accurate patient records, complete coding for effective billing, and inventory management.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Act as a mentor to new staff and physician assistant students.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional image and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- HIPAA compliance at all times.
- NP - Licensed Upon Hire.
- ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support Upon Hire.
