This leader assumes the responsibility of coordinating and articulating the objectives, policies, and procedures of Albany Medical Center, the Nursing Service, and Perioperative nursing into effective action. The unit-based leader is involved in promoting positive patient outcomes, contributes to the effective management of the operating room, and provides clinical support to staff.Job Description
- Actively participates in performance and quality initiatives.
- Demonstrates effective teamwork with colleagues.
- Contributes to the effective management of the operating room.
- Ensures the provision of competent staffing and assignments for specialties.
- Takes unit and administrative call coverage on off-shifts, weekends,holidays.
- Facilitates the daily schedule with Anesthesia coordinator.
- Oversee the daily efficiency and flow in the specialty rooms.
- Conducts huddles and supports monthly staff meetings.
- Monitors and enforces practice standards, policies, and procedures.Minimum Qualifications
- BSN preferred or enrollment in program.
- Current New York State licensure as Registered Nurse required.
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of operating room experience.
- Clinical competency as an OR nurse in both the scrub and circulating roles.
- Performs with expertise in assigned specialty area.
- Demonstrates leadership experience charge or resource role.
