What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Clinical Nurse - Renal Transplant Specialist position at Albany Medical Center?
Join our dynamic team at the Renal Transplant unit and be a part of providing specialized care to patients undergoing renal and pancreas / kidney transplants. As a Senior Clinical Nurse, you will manage patients with primary diagnoses including pre and postoperative surgical patients with a focus on renal and simultaneous pancreas / kidney (SPK) transplants. Your role will involve extensive education on self-care measures necessary to maintain the health of both the patient and the transplanted graft(s). Additionally, you will provide care to general medicine and surgical patients.
The level of acuity is both acute and chronic, with common diagnoses including Renal Transplant, Complications of Renal Transplant, Parathyroidectomy, and more. Treatment modalities include IV therapy, antibiotic therapy, blood and blood products transfusion, sterile dressings, tube feeding, and immunosuppressive therapy for transplant recipients.
