Job Description:
The Clinical Nurse will work in our Hematology/Oncology unit, providing exceptional patient care to our customers.
This role involves assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting treatment as required.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred.
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred.
- Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
