Critical Care Support Services
Our team of critical care trained professional nurses provides 24/7 support for any issue within the hospital and medical college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized care to all patients, employees, and visitors requiring acute medical attention at AMCH and Albany Medical College.
- Educate staff, patients, and families on recognizing clinical deterioration and proactive assessment and observation for patients at risk.
- Conduct MOCK code training for nurses and ancillary staff to enhance code situation outcomes.
Critical Response Situations:
- Code stroke, Code Thrombectomy, Code STEMI, Code 10, Anesthesia Emergency, Code Blue, Code Malignant Hyperthermia, Code Pink, and Rapid Response pages.
- Employee inquiries about Hospital policies, procedures, or patient care.
Patient Stabilization:
- Stabilize decompensating patients on the floor and in ICUs.
- Facilitate movement of patients to higher levels of care when needed.
Education and Requirements:
A graduate of a professional academic nursing program with current RN registration to practice in the State of New York and a minimum of three years recent Intensive Care clinical experience in specific patient populations served. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Quality Reports and Hospital Policy and Procedures is required. Effective communication and documentation skills are necessary to ensure accurate patient care records.
