POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Principal, instruct a self contained classroom in Social Studies and a single subject classroom ( History) utilizing the state content standards and course of study adopted by the school district DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES– E=Essential Duties Provides individual or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students and accommodates circumstances where a variety of projects and experiments are being worked on simultaneously E; establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment during class sessions E; communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress E; participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities E; other responsibilities as detailed in the Albany Teacher Job Description E; other duties as assigned E; selects books and instructional aids to achieve instructional goals and behavioral objectives E; adapts material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils E; participates in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school and on the district level E Requirements: 1. Ability to work cooperatively 2. Knowledge of District adopted Social Science curricula 3. Current Valid California Driver’s License 4. Current California Single Subject Credential in Social Studies 5. EL Authorization 6. Minimum 1 year middle school experience, preferred 7. Tuberculosis Clearanc 8. Fingerprint Clearance
