Summary:
Reporting to the Custom Solutions Manager, the Custom Solutions Intern / Co-Op will assist in the Custom Solutions department of Swagelok Albany. The intern / co-op will gain experience working closely with engineers developing their Solidworks skills, will learn how Swagelok products function within mechanical systems, and will gain exposure to the production side of the business. The Custom Solutions Intern / Co-Op will also collaborate across departments and will interact with the Sales Manager, Inside Sales, Engineers, and Fabricators, gaining exposure to multiple disciplines within the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with Engineers to assist in the development of an improved system layout
Gain proficiency in a variety of technical aspects of the Swagelok Products library
Assist Engineering team on continuous improvement projects
Shadow engineering and support customer facing projects
Partner in the development of Swagelok Albanys revised Solidworks / CAD parts library
Qualifications:
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 required
Mechanical Engineering major desired
Evidence of collaborative work style, professionally and/or academically
Demonstrated project management experience
Strong mechanical aptitude as displayed through prior experience and/or course work
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Exposure to and proficiency in Solidworks (CAD) experience
