Full-Time- 11 months (240 days) / year

Start date : August 1, 2024

The Blue Ridge Juvenile Center Education Program is seeking an Art Teacher for the 2024-25 School Year. Must be endorsed in Art, have a passion for working with at risk youth, an understanding of differentiation in a multi-grade, multi-level classroom, and an understanding of trauma-informed care in the classroom.

BRJC Education Program is a collaborative community that empowers each student academically, socially and emotionally. The program provides safe, innovative, individualized instruction to small groups of learners, to encourage, support, inspire, and prepare them as confident, successful, global citizens.

BRJC Education Program offers, 6-12 SOL core curriculum, on site GED testing, ISAEP, Art, PE, Greenhouse participation, Character Education, SOL testing and remediation, all diploma options, SAT / ACT prep, college placement exams, SPED services, certificate programs (OSHA, Servsafe, Ever-Fi), WISE testing, virtual simulators, hands on vocational opportunities, full service library, access to online learning such as APEX and Connexus, community college online classes through PVCC, and post-graduate support.
