The Policy Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and advocating for policies that promote the company’s interests, drive growth, and ensure regulatory compliance.ResponsibilitiesPolicy Development and AdvocacyDevelop and implement strategic policy initiatives that align with Albemarle Corporation’s goals and objectives.Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state levels that impact the chemical industry.Engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders to influence policy decisions in favor of Albemarle Corporation.Prepare position papers, policy briefs, and other advocacy materials to support the company’s policy agenda.Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and advocacy groups.Represent Albemarle Corporation at industry conferences, public hearings, and other relevant events.Coordinate with internal teams to ensure a consistent and unified approach to strategic policy engagement.Develop and nurture relationships between the Professional Staff at the Congressional Research Service and key Albemarle Corporation experts.Engage in professional discussions and educational sessions with Congressional, Committee Staff, and Members of Congress, as appropriate.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure that Albemarle Corporation becomes aware of and is positioned to respond to the development of all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to its business.Provide guidance to internal teams on anticipated regulatory matters and potential impacts on the business.Help develop and implement compliance programs and initiatives to mitigate regulatory risks.Research and AnalysisConduct in-depth research on policy trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.Analyze the potential impact of proposed policies and regulations on Albemarle Corporation.Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to senior management and other stakeholders.Research and understand regulatory developments and practices, helping Albemarle Corporation align with the regulatory environment of the Administration’s policy direction.Lead internal written communications / editing on activities of team as related to strategic plan.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or related field. A master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in policy development, advocacy, and regulatory affairs, or specific education preferably related to the policy making industry.Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at the federal and state levels.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.Strong analytical, research and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.Benefits of Joining AlbemarleCompetitive compensationA diverse array of resources to support you professionally and personally.We are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
