Summary
The Configuration Management Specialist manages the creation, control, and release of technical documents and change records, ensuring compliance with configuration standards. This role requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in document management tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents and drawings to support multiple departments.
- Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings.
- Ensure that process changes are properly reviewed, approved, and communicated
- Distribute updated or newly released documents and drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of current and historical configuration items.
- Review and verify document formatting and content.
- Assist with document and drawing approvals in customer portals.
- Scan, archive, and manage new, legacy, and obsolete documents.
- Conduct document audits for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
- Coordinate with document originators or engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies.
- Post updates to manual or digital control systems and notify impacted departments.
- Maintain the document control vault and prepare for internal and external audits.
- Organize and relocate electronic files as needed.
- Operate reproduction and office equipment (printers, plotters, laminators).
- Support light editing, document filing, and processing electronic releases via the PLM system.
- Perform additional administrative duties as required.
- Associate's degree or 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as TeamCenter, ProFIle, or other equivalent systems.
- Experience with Autodesk Vault, SolidWorks, or other CAD tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Background in engineering documentation is a plus.
