School Description: Job description: You will teach all subjects in an elementary classroom (Math, Science and Social Studies) as well as German language arts. You will work very closely with your English and German grade level partners. Albert Einstein Academies is a public charter elementary and middle school with a German immersion program (ES) and German language program (MS). Our school philosophy follows the guidelines of the International Baccalaureate Program-Primary Years Program (www.IBO.org) in combination with Common Core Standards http://www.corestandards.org/ for math, science and social studies. For German language arts, AEACS developed an in-house German language curriculum, considering the European Framework for Languages. In grades Kindergarten to five, German is taught up to 50% of the day.
We are looking for a flexible and highly-motivated teacher who likes to work in a team. Native or near-native German language skills are imperative, as well as experience and/ or qualifications to teach German as a second /foreign language. Candidates must demonstrate excellent English language skills for team communication. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate PYP program is preferred.
