What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic-Electrical, Grade VI position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine?
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform the duties of lower grades;
- Assist with BMS wiring and installation based on BMS install blueprints and schematics, BMS testing and issue resolution.
- With minimal direction must be able to layout and install starters, motors, controls and various types of electrical equipment, working in a neat and accurate manner within a reasonable time limit;
- Read all types of blue prints and schematic diagrams;
- Layout and install conduit, raceway and wiring for lighting, heating, cooling and power;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma and 5 years of current experience is required.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary.
- Must adhere to operational safety rules, policies and procedures as deemed by the College/Department.
- Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills and ability to interact with building/occupants effectively.
- Must possess working knowledge of the electrical code;
- Must possess working knowledge of all types of light fixtures;
- Must possess working knowledge of all types of conduits and raceways;
- Must possess working knowledge of basic wiring for lights and power;
- Must possess working knowledge of all hand and power tools;
- Must possess working knowledge of basic electric test equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of all materials and fasteners in accordance with the electrical code.
