Our client, a century old well-established manufacturer of industrial equipment has commissioned us to help them source, screen, and qualify candidates for a Value Stream Leader role in their plant in Kansas City, Kansas.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :
The Value Stream Leader (VSL) provides accountable Leadership and Continuous Improvement to the Team, Supervisors, and direct workforce, ensuring organizational effectiveness by way of continuous improvements and the rigorous use Continuous Improvement skills and will manage performance aligning to with financial expectations deployment.
Responsibilities include ensuring employees honor Time Available and perform according to Standard Work and, through tools, address non-conformances in the moment.
The Value Stream Leader drives continuous improvement with intentional deployment of resources to achieve a result and communicates and implements safety policies and standards ensuring compliance across the facility, all while bringing real-time implementation of Continuous Improvement.
The VSL is on the shop floor with the team 90% of time and models the use of the following tools : Standard work, value stream mapping, visual management, real time problem solving with countermeasures, pull, preventative maintenance, and 5s to achieve goals while driving continuous improvement activities, kaizens, etc.
throughout the value stream with cross functional departments to achieve our goals in support of our long-term strategy.
BACKGROUND :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
- Minimum 7 years related experience
- Minimum 2 years of Leadership experience
- Experience in Mechanical products is a plus
- Organization and planning skills
- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment
- Experience with safety standards
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Computer skills using MS office programs
