Ever considered joining a team of professionals responsible for verifying and confirming derivatives transactions while ensuring payment obligations are fulfilled?As a Derivatives Operations Analyst, you will demonstrate knowledge of and be accountable for trade validation, confirmation, settlements, and reporting for all over the counter (OTC) and cleared derivatives on behalf of AIMCo. You will perform analysis, interpret derivatives contracts and assess their impact on AIMCo from a risk, profitability and process prospective.
As the successful applicant, you will become familiar with and maintain knowledge of the Derivatives market.

Responsibilities Include:
- Confirm and affirm trades with dealers to ensure economic and legal agreement of trades are executed
- Adhere to and interpret the legal definitions and terms as contained in the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) documents and guidelines
- Analyze legal documents pertaining to Derivative trades to ensure the terms and obligations are negotiated to conform to ISDA documentation structure and definitions
- Leverage industry research or data to consult with the front office teams in a manner that ensures the sound business or trade related decisions made minimizes business risk.
- Complete all trade exception requests while ensuring trade entries are documented into Calypso correctly and in a timely fashion.
- Resolve settlement discrepancies and verify terms and details of derivatives products
- Create treasury, cash movement reports, and maintain reporting metrics as well as recommend improvement suggestions on projects and process improvements.
- Build and manage interpersonal relationships with vendors and counterparties.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field is required
- 2 years of professional experience within a derivatives-related role
- Knowledge and/or experience with derivative instruments (interest rate/currency/equity swaps, forwards, and options) are strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency with MS Office suite specifically with Excel is required
- Progress towards the completion of a CFA and FRM professional designation would be an asset
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
One Year Success Measures:
- Established strong relationships with the professionals on our trading desk, AIMCo’s legal counsel and with external clients. A good working knowledge of applying and process trade requests in line with ISDA guidelines and become well versed in the use of platforms like Calypso, MarkitWire, MTM and TriResolve.
