Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in developing and executing tactics to enhance the visibility of our products and services for municipalities. The role works in close collaboration with the Senior Manager, Marketing to:
- create compelling content;
- create and distribute internal and external marketing and communication materials;
- contribute to social media platforms and website;
- support & collaborate with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Draft, create, and coordinate content for website, social media, marketing collateral, presentation slide decks, newsletters, advertisements, trade shows, etc.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of marketing collateral, driving lead generation and pushing prospects to take the desired action.
- Ensure that all brand communication elements are consistent and accurate, and are reflective of the current brand strategy, plan, and communication objectives.
- Coordinate external vendors (creative and web agencies) if required to ensure creative is aligned with messaging and brand.
- Ability to stay abreast of trends, risks, and innovations in climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy and property assessed clean energy.
- In collaboration with CEIP staff, plan and coordinate workshops, webinars, events, and various creative marketing, education and outreach tasks that build awareness of and inspire participation in Alberta Municipalities’ CEIP programs in cities, towns, villages, summer villages, municipal districts and counties across Alberta.
- Track, monitor, and report performance of communication channels and campaigns.
- Represent Alberta Municipalities CEIP at events, trade shows, and meetings of relevant organizations (working on evenings and weekends may be required).
- Post-secondary education and 2- 5 years of experience in communications, marketing and communications and/or other closely related field, or any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
- Knowledge of and experience in the energy efficiency and/or renewable energy sector, provincial or municipal government(s), or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience in developing persuasive and engaging content (e.g., website content, blogs, videos, social media posts).
- Demonstrated experience in website management and content management systems (CMS).
- Understanding of how to identify, map, and manage stakeholders.
- Proficiency in WordPress or Drupal, social media scheduling tools (e.g. Sprout), Adobe Suite (mostly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), and email marketing tools (e.g. MailChimp).
- Savvy with social media and marketing digital strategies (e.g., X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, search engine optimization, etc.).
- Demonstrated fluency in using standard office software packages (MS Office: SharePoint, Planner, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in executing and coordinating marketing tactics and campaigns.
