The Engineering Services department has an opening for a Municipal Engineering Technologist II, this position will review, approve and inspect municipal infrastructure related to development.

The Opportunity
The Engineering Services department has an opening for a Municipal Engineering Technologist II, this position will review, approve and inspect municipal infrastructure related to development.
Responsibilities Include
- Review and approval of site servicing drawings and reports
- Review and approval of grading plans
- Review and approval of Stormwater management plans/reports
- Review and approval of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans
- Field inspections
- Represent Engineering Services in external and internal meetings
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution and registered as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T); or
- A Degree in Civil Engineering with designation as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T), Professional Engineer (P.Eng), or Professional Licensee (P.L)
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience related to civil engineering
- Demonstrated experience reviewing technical drawings and reports related to municipal servicing standards is essential
- Previous experience with development permit applications and associated site inspections would be an asset
- Ability to use AutoCAD and related software
- A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License (or equivalent)
- Ability to manage your time to meet deadlines on a variety of projects concurrently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
