Position Title: Part-Time Head Cheerleading Coach

Job Overview: The Head Cheerleading Coach is expected to direct the day-to-day operation and development of the program at Albertus Magnus College. The Head Coach is accountable for building the requisite roster size and developing a student-athlete recruitment plan to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of an appropriate roster. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and games. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.
- Along with coaching responsibilities, this position has additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of Cheerleading in accordance with the College’s enrollment growth strategies.
- Develops and implements a practice plan to insure proper preparation for competition.
- Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.
- Supervises assistant coaches and provides feedback for continued growth and development.
- Represented their respective program during coaches’ meetings.
- Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sport.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
- General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
- A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
- General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
- A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.
Special Working Conditions:
- Evening and some weekend hours required.
