Our investment team’s job is to put each client’s individualized financial plan into action through fundamental research, asset allocation, stock selection, portfolio risk monitoring, tax optimization, cash flow management, and careful handling of any special circumstances that might be unique to a particular client.
What you’ll do:
Work with the Albion investment team to manage client investment portfolios / accounts. Execute large-scale block trades with a high level of attention to detail to ensure optimal outcomes across Albion’s entire client base. Respond to requests from clients and Albion’s team of wealth advisors to raise or deploy cash in accordance with each client’s customized investment policy statement. Work with Albion’s client custodian partners to quickly and efficiently resolve any trade errors or special client requests related to client accounts. Work directly with Albion clients in conjunction with Senior Wealth Advisors to ensure portfolios are tailored to match client needs and to ensure clients understand portfolio specifics. Perform detailed client account analysis to assess volatility and risk, style factor and industry exposures, income generation, and adherence to each client’s investment policy statement, making portfolio changes as necessary. Contribute to the collective knowledge base of Albion’s investment team and the shared goal of providing our clients with the best possible investment management, in accordance with their individual financial goals.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
We do not expect candidates to begin their tenure at Albion with the capacity to effectively execute all the responsibilities listed below. However, we do expect the successful candidate to become competent in some of these areas quickly and over time build competence and capacity in the others.
- Work directly with our clients in collaboration with Senior Wealth Advisors to ensure accounts are tailored to each client’s individual needs regarding growth, income, and stability
- Utilize our technology stack to implement and manage all aspects of account customization, including asset allocation, model combinations, restrictions, substitutions, and legacy positions
- Utilize our technology stack to efficiently execute large-scale block trades, potentially across hundreds of client accounts simultaneously, ensuring best execution and optimal outcomes for all clients
- Monitor existing client portfolios for cash levels, raising or deploying excess cash as needed
- Respond to ad hoc requests regarding anything related to client accounts, including performance, trade history, cash distributions, and other topics
- Monitor existing client portfolios for asset allocation drift making adjustments in accordance with Albion’s portfolio rebalancing philosophy and methodology
- Optimize after-tax outcomes for clients by executing Albion’s tax loss harvesting methodology in client portfolios, in accordance with each client’s unique tax situation
- Work directly with our custodians to handle non-market order execution, including the placement of stop-losses, limit orders, option collars, and other client-specific trade requests
- Participate in and contribute to the Albion investment team’s macroeconomic and fundamental company research process and knowledge base
Qualifications:
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of consistently executing established processes who also possesses a relentless desire to serve others and make things better
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information and communicate key messages to a wide variety of audiences
- Strong quantitative acumen and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in excel a must; experience with large data sets also a plus; working knowledge of Tamarac a plus
- Proven history of building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to respond to shifting priorities
- Intellectually curious, ability to learn quickly, and a desire to share knowledge with others
Education & Work experience:
- Undergraduate degree required; major in math, business, economics, or related field a plus
- Prefer 2 to 5 years of professional experience in investment research, trading, and/or portfolio management. Education in the above fields can be a partial substitute for experience.
Additional Information:
- Position follows New York market hours. A typical day is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Mountain time.
- Albion’s office is in Salt Lake City. We offer a hybrid work arrangement (in-office and remote), subject to client meetings and other factors.
