Position Summary :
This is a student position doing assisting in the teaching laboratories in the department of chemistry and biochemistry. A student in this position will assist the lab professor by helping students, collecting materials, and organizing lab supplies.
Essential Job Functions :
The student will work during a scheduled laboratory. The laboratory assistant in this position must comply with all safety mandates in the department, including wearing pants, a laboratory coat, and safety glasses at all times. The student will assist the instructor in implementing the laboratory, and assist students in the laboratory in performing the laboratory. Additional tasks that the laboratory assistant will accomplish consist of some or all of the following :

The individual is routinely exposed to indoor conditions, minimum outdoor weather and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level.
Qualifications / Prerequisites :
The worker will have had experience with safe laboratory practice and with analytical balances and glassware.
No previous employment experience is required.
