Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists in providing quality eye care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing pre testing to ensure the smooth operation of the optometry practice.
Duties:
- Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception
- Assist with patient history taking and documenting medical records
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist optometrists as needed
- Perform basic optical repairs and adjustments on an as needed basis
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is preferred
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
