What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Access Representative position at Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless?

AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. We are currently looking for an individual to join us as a Patient Access Representative (PAR) at our dental/medical front desk. The role of the PAR is critical to a positive patient experience and our ideal candidate will be someone who has excellent customer service standards, great organizational and time management skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments and roles, and an eye for detail to ensure all administrative paperwork (intakes, ROIs, applications for financial assistance, etc) contain complete and accurate information. This role will also verify insurance eligibility and restrictions to include referrals, prior authorization and financial assessment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working in medical front desk, customer service, or hospitality role
- Ability to work in fast-paced sometimes stressful/noisy environment
- Excellent attendance history
- Ability to communicate and work with a widely diverse range of client/patients and co-workers
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with under served populations
- Previous receptionist experience in medical or dental environments
- Bilingual Spanish
- Experience in working in an electronic health record (EHR)
