What are the responsibilities and job description for the STAFFING SPECIALIST: CERTIFIED position at Albuquerque Public Schools?
To evaluate and resolve human relations and work-related problems while administering the District's human resources policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and meets with managers, directors, and superintendents to facilitate effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Administers the Districts human resources policies and procedures as they pertain to employee relations.
- Meets with district employees regarding job-related concerns and assists in resolution.
- Assists and advises managers, directors, superintendents and supervisors regarding employee evaluations, discipline and termination.
- Coordinates and oversees maintenance of required records including personnel, security, payroll, budget and allocations.
- Responds to questions regarding the interpretation and administration of personnel policies throughout the District.
- Works with compensation department in the continuous maintenance and revision of employee evaluation instruments and implementation of annual salary programs.
- Prepares documentation for and testifies at meetings or hearings regarding discipline, discharges, terminations, arbitration, evaluations and unemployment, etc.
- Reviews, recommends and implements changes to human resources policy and procedure.
- Coordinates voluntary and administrative transfers with staffing department.
- Assists in communicating District wide communications to all employees.
- Provides reports and information as required.
- Keeps school sites updated on classified staff qualifications and training.
- Monitors assignment of classified allocations at school sites.
- Assists school sites with management of classified personnel.
- Attends new facility planning committees.
- Supervises assistant staffing specialists and staffing secretaries.
