Albuquerque Talent Development Academy Charter High School seeks:
For the 2024-2025 school year, a Half-Time Dean of Students
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Master's Degree preferred. Experience working with diverse students and families and a successful record demonstrating ability to improve student academic achievement.
Staff report: Mon-Thurs 8:00-3:30 Fridays 8:00-12:00 (PLCs)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, team player who will help our school be successful by providing academic support to a wide range of students as well as discipline as needed via restorative justice practices. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for innovation as well as a proven track record in using data to improve academic achievement.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee discipline and positive behavior interventions at the high school with support from the Principal
- Serve as support for advisors on discipline issues, including interviewing students, contacting parents and social workers, writing behavior contracts, etc.
- Attend parent conferences as necessary, especially to support staff/advisors who are dealing with serious attendance, academic, or behavioral issues
- Maintain all behavior contracts
- Communicate with students, advisors, and parents regarding discipline follow- through including ISS
- Implement and Track Positive Reward Systems for students
- Implement Detention/Tardies System to Ensure Reduced Tardies
- Provide Teacher Feedback during Walkthroughs to help improve consistency of behavior expectations
- Supporting the Principal with administrative tasks as needed
