Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Business Development Associate to support our efforts in building and managing strategic partnerships with service providers that want to sponsor Alchemist initiatives and offer perks to the Alchemist founder community. This role involves outreach, negotiation, and relationship management to ensure high-value collaborations that benefit both our founders and our partners. Additionally, for the right individual, there may be opportunities to contribute to broader business development initiatives, including those related to fundraising. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, ideal for an early-career professional looking to gain experience in business development within the startup and venture ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Continually assess the needs of Alchemist’s startup portfolio, to ensure we offer high-value perks and strike formal partnerships with the most relevant / exciting service providers for our founders.
- Identify and reach out to service providers who could become sponsors for Alchemist initiatives and / or offer valuable perks to our community.
- Negotiate and structure sponsorship agreements to maximize value for both parties.
- Maintain and manage an ongoing account management cadence with sponsors, ensuring smooth execution of Alchemist commitments, continued engagement and renewal of sponsorship commitments.
- Track and analyze the impact of partnerships, ensuring alignment with Alchemist’s strategic goals.
- Co-ordinate with the Program Team and other stakeholders, on the most effective ways to connect sponsors to our portfolio.
- Support additional business development initiatives, including those related to Alchemist’s fundraising efforts, as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to communicate partnership opportunities and benefits effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships or a related field.
A track record of exceeding expectations in a quota carrying role.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with external partners.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in the startup ecosystem, venture capital, or accelerator space is a plus.
Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
Enthusiastic about supporting startup founders and driving strategic partnerships.
