The Director of Music at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will play a vital role in planning, preparing, and leading worship services. This position involves exploring and developing the congregation’s musical resources and talents. The Director of Music will work closely with the pastor and report directly to them.
Responsibilities :
- Organist / Pianist
- Lead the congregation in song from the organ and piano during Sunday morning worship services.
- Play for occasional services and midweek worship services during Lent.
- Support and help the congregation expand its repertoire of hymns and songs across various music styles.
- Accompany the adult choir.
- Choir Director (For Interested Candidates)
- Lead and direct the adult vocal choir.
- Recruit new choir members.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the handbell choir and its director.
- Plan worship services in collaboration with the Pastor.
- Create worship service templates and produce PowerPoint slides for services.
- Maintain the music library and manage subscriptions.
- Oversee the Music Ministry budget.
- Maintain church instruments, including the pipe organ, pianos (3), handbells, and other musical equipment.
- Attend staff meetings and Worship & Music Committee meetings.
- Manage copyright compliance.
- Secure qualified substitute musicians for worship services when needed.
