What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Inspector/Packer position at Alco Manufacturing Co?
4 Day Workweek! Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm.

Basic Function: Overall goal is to sort parts and document results per instructions within company standards for safety, quality and productivity.
Essential Functions:
- Sort discrepant parts from good parts visually or with precision measuring equipment as directed.
- Separate parts from machining chips as necessary.
- Remove burrs, or rework parts as instructed.
- Document all sort results accurately and on proper paperwork per work instructions and turn reports in to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Identify inspected product per procedures assuring proper lot control is maintained at all times.
- Move inspected product to next operation.
- Identify and place parts to be discarded in location to be scrapped.
Additional Responsibilities:
- May instruct and monitor work of temporary employees.
- Package and label parts to be shipped to customers per work instructions
- Alert operators, quality department and supervisor/manager of quality issues as they arise.
- Housekeeping: maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner, keep floors clean and free of oil & chips.
- Follow company policies, procedures and safety rules as described in the Alco Employee Handbook.
Knowledge, skills and ability:
- Ability to read and understand Blue Prints, routing cards and follow instructions.
- Ability to use and interpret most precision measuring gauges including micrometers, calipers & special gauges.
- Ability to maintain organized work area and be able to consistently inspect numerous parts closely for long periods of time.
- Ability to read, understand and evaluate that routing cards are completed correctly.
- Excellent ability to interact with coworkers to communicate results of sort process and to ask for clarification until instructions are fully understood..
- Ability to use computer to write DMR’s.

Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- On the Job Training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate work – Frequent lifting/moving part pans of up to 35 lbs.
- Use fingers & hands to manipulate parts & continuous close visual concentration while inspecting parts.
- Frequent repetitive motion required for auditing/inspecting parts.
- Bend, stoop or crouch to lift part pans gather samples.
- Continuous standing or sitting while sorting parts.
Salary : $16 - $16
