Apercu du role :En tant que leader de l'hygiene industrielle, vous serez responsable de diriger, coordonner, superviser et standardiser les activites cles d'hygiene du travail dans la region. Sous la supervision du directeur ESS pour l'Amerique du Nord, vous veillerez a ce que la documentation necessaire soit en place pour soutenir les programmes de gestion de la sante, conformement a notre strategie globale en matiere d'hygiene du travail.
Les responsabilites cles comprennent :
- Identifier, developper et diriger des strategies regionales pour gerer les risques de sante au travail lies a l'ergonomie, au stress thermique, aux risques psychosociaux et a d'autres agents applicables.
- Aider a la mise en uvre des systemes IH (Alcoa IH, systeme FDS du fournisseur, systeme FDS Alcoa, identification des dangers, caracterisation des risques, evaluation qualitative et quantitative de l'exposition, etc.).
- Aider le personnel du site a elaborer et a maintenir des programmes complets de gestion de l'IH (protection respiratoire, evaluation de l'exposition et strategies de controle, ergonomie, conservation de l'ouie, communication des risques, rayonnement, examen des nouveaux materiaux, gestion des matieres dangereuses).
- Veiller au respect des exigences legales et des engagements gouvernementaux.
- Formuler des recommandations sur les objectifs et les indicateurs de performance regionaux et mondiaux de l'IH.
- Promouvoir des campagnes et des programmes regionaux de sensibilisation aux politiques et programmes de sante.
Ce que vous apportez au role :
- Diplome (ou equivalent) en hygiene industrielle, en chimie ou dans un domaine connexe ; maitrise en sciences de preference.
- 10 a 15 ans d'experience dans le domaine de l'hygiene, de la sante au travail et de l'ergonomie, idealement au sein de grandes entreprises minieres ou manufacturieres.
- Capacite a partager des idees et a communiquer de maniere a influencer les dirigeants regionaux, gerer les conflits, mener des discussions sur les priorites et partager les exigences.
- Experience en tant qu'agent de changement, capable de travailler dans le cadre d'initiatives de transformation dans la region.
- Solides competences analytiques.
- Connaissances pratiques des lois et reglements applicables au Canada et aux Etats-Unis en matiere d'hygiene et de sante au travail.
- Comprehension de la sante mentale liee au travail, y compris la prevention et la gestion des maladies mentales sur le lieu de travail et des risques psychosociaux.
- Familiarite avec les principes de l'ESS et la gestion des risques.
- Proactivite, esprit d'equipe et capacite d'influence a tous les niveaux de l'organisation.
- Hygieniste industriel certifie par l'American Board of Industrial Hygiene ou titre similaire.
- Le bilinguisme francais-anglais

Take the lead of our region's Industrial Hygiene (IH) program and ensure our employees benefit from consistent and value-added IH programs and processes to protect their health. Become a key player in anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling occupational health risks while contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
Role Overview:As the leader of industrial hygiene, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, supervising, and standardizing key occupational hygiene activities in the region. Under the supervision of the EHS Director for North America, you will ensure that the necessary documentation is in place to support health management programs in line with our overall occupational hygiene strategy.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead innovative regional strategies to manage occupational health risks related to ergonomics, thermal stress, psychosocial risks, and other agents.
- Support the implementation of IH systems (Alcoa IH, supplier SDS system, Alcoa SDS system, hazard identification, risk characterization, qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment, etc.).
- Assist site personnel in developing and maintaining comprehensive IH management programs (respiratory protection, exposure assessment and control strategies, ergonomics, hearing conservation, risk communication, radiation, review of new materials, hazardous materials management).
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government commitments.
- Make recommendations on regional and global IH performance objectives and indicators.
- Promote regional awareness campaigns and programs on health policies and programs.
What You Bring:
- Degree (or equivalent) in industrial hygiene, chemistry, or a related field; a master's degree in science is an asset.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the field of hygiene, occupational health, and ergonomics, ideally within large mining or manufacturing companies.
- Ability to share ideas and communicate in a way that influences regional leaders, manages conflicts, leads discussions on priorities, and shares requirements.
- Experience as a change agent, able to work within regional transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Practical knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in Canada and the United States regarding hygiene and occupational health.
- Understanding of work-related mental health, including the prevention and management of mental illnesses in the workplace and psychosocial risks.
- Familiarity with EHS principles and risk management.
- Proactivity, team spirit, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene or similar title.
- Bilingualism in French and English.
- Availability for business travel - 25%.
