What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Residential Worker position at Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services?
Maple Manor is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that can accommodate 24 individuals. You must be willing to work the following shifts: 8 AM - 4 PM, 4 PM - Midnight, Midnight - 8 AM. An all day shift schedule is not available for this position.
THE DUTIES:
Document and maintain in files the progress clients have made toward accomplishing the goals and objectives delineated in treatment plans.
Attends staff meetings, AA meetings, and educational conferences in order to learn facts, skills, abilities and attitudes necessary for assisting clients to return to independent living.
Maintains records and reports, under the supervision of program director, in order to learn and gain proficiency in this procedure.
Transports clients by agency van to appointments and AA/NA meetings.
Answer the telephone and take messages where applicable. Provide information about services to callers.
Housekeeping Duties.
Light Cooking or food prep.
Work hours include nights, weekends, etc...
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to develop and maintain a sympathetic and understanding attitude when working with program clients.
Ability to learn and apply simple principles and methods of drug and alcohol rehabilitation to facility residents.
Ability to make judgments regarding the health and welfare of program clients and to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Ability to provide appropriate transportation for residents to appointments.
Ability to maintain records.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Experience in residential facility or healthcare preferred, but no previous experience and training is required. Driver's License is required. Drug testing is required.
