Alcohol and Drug Freedom Center of Knox County is seeking a Street Outreach Specialist for Licking County to work full-time. This is a community-based position that involves daily travel to community sites in Licking County. The Street Outreach Specialist for Licking County plays a pivotal role in the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Outreach Program, dedicated to connecting individuals who are homeless or facing imminent homelessness and are dealing with substance use disorders to crucial services. This position involves proactive outreach efforts to facilitate access to various services, including re-engagement, screenings, clinical assessments, treatment, case management, and supportive resources to support recovery and stability.
Because this position requires travel as well as transporting clients, a valid Ohio Driver's License and two years of driving experience are required. The Street Outreach Specialist for Licking County must maintain and show proof of full automobile insurance coverage. Qualified applicants are required to have a High School Diploma or GED and relevant experience. CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) credential preferred (expected to be obtained within one year of employment if not already obtained).
Requirements for this role include:
- Demonstrated experience working with homeless populations and individuals dealing with substance use disorders.
- Proficiency in utilizing HMIS or similar systems for accurate data tracking and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills to engage with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of challenges faced by homeless individuals and knowledge of available support resources.
