POSITION : Yard Worker
LOCATION : Winslow
STATUS : Non-Exempt (hourly)
POSITION SUMMARY :
Loading finished trailers on flatbed, drop deck, and ramp commercial carrier trailers. Properly secure all outgoing loads while keeping pace with shipping demands.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Loads finished trailers and parts for scheduled shipments.
- Operates forklift, yard tractor, and material handling equipment in and around the warehouse
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the yard
- Utilizes available loading straps, wood, and dunnage to secure loads properly.
- Ensures compliance with all safety policies and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
- Works with the Shipping Yard Lead to ensure proper load documentation is provided to each driver.
- Performs basic preventive maintenance on all yard equipment, including tractor, lift truck, and various fall protection equipment systems.
- Review freight orders to identify potential issues to avoid delays in shipping.
- Loads and unloads shipments and pallets, as may be required.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
