With oversight and direction from the Pharmacy Director, the 340B Compliance Analyst performs ongoing internal regulatory compliance audits of all aspects of the 340B and Medicaid Programs; ensures a compliant program throughout the organization. Actively develops relationships with internal and external 340B stakeholders to ensure cooperation to optimize compliance with 340B and Medicaid programs.
- Responsible for conducting routine assessments of the 340B process for regulatory compliance including ensuring audit readiness for potential Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) or manufacturer audits.
- Perform audits of all in-house and contract pharmacies at the minimum percentage stated in AHC policies and procedures.
- May involve presenting and resolving qualification issues as they arise during the monitoring process. Monitor and audit state Medicaid claims to ensure compliance to prevent potential duplicate discount rebates.
- Evaluate non-captured claims, where applicable, for referral capture opportunities, and collect any additional documentation necessary to capture those prescriptions in a compliant manor.
- Continue to build knowledge of the health care and pharmacy services industry; use that knowledge to identify ways, and make recommendations, to improve the 340B Program. Develop a thorough understanding of the 340B Program and improve the overall efficiency, value, and internal support of the 340B Program.
- Develops relationships with 340B contract pharmacies to ensure cooperation and teamwork to optimize scope, savings, revenues and compliance. Proactively promotes knowledge-sharing and recommendations to resolve issues, optimize improvements, and ensure consistency of compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the third party administrator systems and the functions to be performed.
- Analyze 340B purchasing, receiving, and inventory control processes at each of the contract pharmacies. Compile concise records and documentation of all audits performed
- Reports all compliance concerns to the Pharmacy Director without delay.
- Conducts all insurance company audits.
- Acts as a 340B pharmacy resource for the health center.
- Acts as a Point of Contact, as well as, establish and maintain effective working relationships with Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical, and other ancillary staff.
- Assists the pharmacist with filling prescriptions.
Required Training & Experience:
- Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR.
- Possesses the ability to secure transportation to allow for reliable and timely work attendance, including when business is required to be conducted at sites other than your primary worksite.
- Possesses a current license as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Michigan.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Effectively use the pharmacy software system.
