Job Summary
The Communication Officer receives incoming calls for police and emergency assistance. The incumbent in this position is required to maintain radio contact with Police and Emergency personnel assigned to the university's properties. This work requires the exercise of discretion, courtesy, and tact, along with sound intelligent decision-making skills and knowledge of public safety procedures. General supervision is received from an administrative supervisor.

Qualifications
Licensing and Certifications
Incumbent in this position must complete the certification requirements / minimum standards for tele-communicators as set forth by the Board of Emergency Tele-communicators Standards and Training.
