Job Title Electrical Helper FLSA Status Non Exempt Posted Salary Range Commensurate with Experience Employment Status Full Time Department Facilities Management Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor. The Electrical Helper is responsible for assisting the electricians with the installation and maintenance of the electrical and power systems of the university.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Ability to use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers.
Ability to work within the overall organization of Facilities Management and work with skilled and unskilled personnel and administrators.
Good oral and written communication skills
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to express ideas effectively and concisely.
Willing to seek training to enhance or learn new skills.
Essential Job Functions
Clear knowledge of electrical principles.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License

Essential Job Functions
- Assist in the installation of sound systems, security systems and voice systems.
- Assist in the installation of lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
- Assist in threading conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings using wrench.
- Assist in the installation of appliances for power.
- Be accessible and available in the event of emergencies or when needed to meet the ongoing missions of the University.
Clear knowledge of electrical principles.
