MS/HS Secretary & Office Manager
The goal of this position is to provide support to the building administrator(s) in the efficient operation of the school office.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet visitors to the school building.
- Answer phone, arrange appointments with the Principal, and screen visitors.
- Maintain a complete and systematic filing system.
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain office and workroom supplies.
- Assist the Principal in typing correspondence, reports, memos, daily bulletins, purchase orders, etc.
- Update student information in the student database as needed.
- Maintain student attendance records using the student database.
- Process requisitions from staff members.
- Collect and deposit monies, maintain accurate records, and send copies of deposit receipts to the bookkeeper.
- Maintain building activity account and provide monthly reports to the bookkeeper.
- Assist with nurse's duties if the nurse is absent.
- Coordinate substitute teachers and complete monthly substitute log.
- Maintain confidentiality of all school-related matters.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or higher.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable/payable and payroll.
- Ability to concentrate, think, read, and multi-task.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, and related items).
- Successfully completes required criminal history check, physical, drug screen, and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.
