Director of Nursing
Manages the 24-hours a day, seven days a week nursing functions for Asbury Health & Rehabilitation Center; oversees the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the healthcare facility, duties include but aren't limited to evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies & procedures. May serve in the absence of the Director of Health Services. Other essential job functions:
- Supervising all nursing staff
- Overseeing department budgets
- Reporting to higher management in the healthcare facilities
- Maintaining high standards of care for all residents
- Managing patients’ data and medical records as confidential records
- Communicating with doctors, patients and family members about patient health
- Recruiting, training and onboarding new nursing staff
- Providing ongoing education classes
- Implementing new procedures and training Nurses on policies

1. Ability to assess and direct care of residents requiring minimal to total nursing care.
2. Working knowledge of nursing operations.
3. Ability to manage working group effectively.
4. Leadership skills with an understanding of how to function effectively within a team environment.
5. Possesses managerial skills.
6. Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing.
7. Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to area of responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS in nursing with three to five years as a registered nurse to include one to three years of management experience.
