Alderson Loop is looking for a Fixed Income Operations Specialist to join a Middle Office Investment and Research Liaison department at a Fortune 500 investment firm. The specialist will help support investment teams through all stages of the client and strategy life cycle by managing investment-related, operational activities. You will serves as a primary point of contact between the Fixed Income investment staff and other operational teams. Responsible for ensuring fixed income issuers and securities are setup correctly and providing support to FI credit analysts including ratings management, analyst attribution, quantitative, and ad hoc support.
The hiring manager is looking for someone with financial industry and data analysis experience (with demonstrated Excel proficiency).The candidate will need to sit onsite under the hybrid model (3 days onsite) in downtown, Baltimore MD.
Responsibilities
- Supports the ongoing operational activities associated with portfolio management and credit research. Example activities include: researching and analyzing investment and performance data; generating bespoke investment-, risk-, and performance-related reporting; and resolving low to moderately complex investment-related operational issues independently
- Serves as project participant or lead, on investments-initiated and investment operations-directed projects. Develops use cases and testing plans and participates in user acceptance testing to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provides various quantitative reports for risk positioning and metrics
- Uses discretion to coordinate credit analyst responses to ad hoc and recurring quantitative investment-related data inquiries posed by internal teams, clients, consultants, and prospects
- Reviews content and sources standard investment data for use in client meetings, marketing materials, client reporting, and internal investment committee meetings. Develops content as directed by investment staff and senior team members
- Maintains accurate and complete procedural documentation for assigned responsibilities, participates in cross-training exercises, and provides operational coverage as needed within assigned team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, accounting or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 2 years of financial industry experience
- 2 years of data analysis experience with demonstrated Excel proficiency
- Investment management support experience, knowledge or understanding of investment process
- Previous operational support experience for the back or middle office of an investment firm
