Network Engineer - Night shift

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Network Engineer to join an on-site team in a data center environment. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with Cisco hardware installation and software Upgrades, as well as solid knowledge of network infrastructure. A minimum of CCNA certification is required.

You will need to work on-site Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed 8PM-6AM. Typically, at the Owings Mills, MD office. This is an on-site role with no WFH.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and support of LAN and WAN infrastructure

• Carry out physical Cisco hardware replacements (switches, routers, modules, etc.) and software upgrades in a live environment

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues quickly and effectively, minimizing downtime

• Monitor network performance and maintain high levels of security and uptime

• Accurately document changes, configurations, and incidents

• Collaborate with internal teams, third-party vendors, and technical support where needed

Minimum Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and software in a data center enterprise network environment

• CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

• Proficient in Cisco IOS and NX-OS environments

• Strong understanding of routing and switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, EIGRP

• Comfortable working independently on-site and responding to network issues as they arise

• Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skill

• Knowledge of monitoring tools and ITSM/ticketing systems

• Experienced with structured cabling and physical data center layout

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced certifications such as CCNP and CCIE are a plus

• Network Access Control systems (Cisco ISE) and 802.1x

• Experience of fabric path to ACI migration

• Experience of network analysis tools such as Wireshark

• WIFI deployment, monitoring and trouble shooting
